Regular Meeting

Thursday March 29, 2012

7:00 p.m.

 

  1. The meeting was called to order by President Todd Brown.
  2. The invocation was given by Jim Cross.
  3. The pledge of allegiance was observed.
  4. Members present: Todd Brown, Jerry Bishop, Jeremy Casey and Brandon Rhodes. Members absent: Nelwyn Almand.
  5. Minutes of February 21, 2012, meeting were approved.
  6. Audience: Prescott/Nevada Chamber of Commerce board members and director spoke to Nevada Board on ways the chamber could be of assistance to Nevada School District.
  7. There were no resolutions to consider.
  8. Reports were given by Mr. Jones, Mr. Cross and Superintendent McAfee.

Old Business: None

  1. New Business:
    1. Financial statements for period ending February 29, 2012, were reviewed.
    2. It was moved by Bishop, seconded by Rhodes, to approve payment of February warrants. Yeas 4, Nays 0. Motion passed.
    3. It was moved by Casey, seconded by Bishop, to approve to approve 2012-2013 school year calendar. Yeas 4, Nays 0. Motion passed.
    4. It was moved by Bishop, seconded by Rhodes to approve a 2011-2012 non-certified contract for Alvin Gulley.  Yeas 4, Nays 0.  Motion passed.
    5. It was moved by Bishop, seconded by Casey to approve 2012-2013 contracts for approved list of certified personnel. Yeas 4, Nays 0.  Motion passed.
    6. It was moved by Casey, seconded by Bishop, to approve 2012-13 contracts for approved list of non-certified personnel.  Yeas 4, Nays 0. Motion passed.
  2. Date of next board meeting was scheduled for April 26, 2012.
  3. It was moved by Rhodes, seconded by Bishop, to adjourn at 7:45 p.m.. Yeas 4, Nays 0. Motion passed.
